The short version
Two names for one job
Search engine optimization is the work of making a website easier for search engines to read, more useful than the pages currently ranking, and trusted enough to be worth ranking at all.
AI search optimization, sometimes called generative engine optimization or GEO, is the work of getting your brand quoted inside AI-generated answers in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini.
So we do not sell AI SEO as a separate line item. It is built into everything, because splitting them would mean charging you twice for one body of work.
At ScalEasy they are the same engagement, because the work overlaps almost entirely. AI tools do not invent answers. They pull from sources that are technically sound, clearly structured and independently trusted, which is exactly what good SEO produces.
The additions are structural:
- Schema that makes your facts machine-readable
- Formatting built for extraction
- Entity clarity, so models know who you are
- Bing indexing, which matters specifically for ChatGPT
Why most SEO fails
Most SEO retainers buy activity, not rankings
Here is the pattern we see when businesses come to us from another agency. The monthly report shows twenty keywords, most of them variations of the company name, all ranking first. Four blog posts were published. Some backlinks were built. Everything looks busy.
Then you open Search Console and organic traffic is flat, or down. The blog posts target topics nobody searches for. The backlinks came from directories that stopped mattering in 2016. And nobody has looked at why forty percent of your product pages are not indexed at all, because fixing that is technical work and it does not photograph well in a monthly report.
The second problem is newer and quieter. A growing share of your buyers now ask ChatGPT or read the AI summary at the top of Google before they click anything. A site can rank fifth in Google and be completely absent from the AI answer sitting above it, which is the part that actually gets read. You will not see that loss in your analytics, because the visit never happened. The traffic just slowly stops arriving and nobody can explain why.

What’s included
The fundamentals, done properly, every month
There is no secret in SEO. There is a list of things that work, and the difference between agencies is whether they actually do them or only report on them.
Technical SEO
Crawling, indexing, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile issues, duplicate content, broken redirects, and the crawl budget being wasted on pages that should not exist. This is where the fastest wins usually are.
Keyword and intent research
What your customers actually type, at which stage of deciding, and which of those terms you have a realistic chance of ranking for this year rather than in 2029.
On-page optimisation
Titles, headings, internal linking, schema and page structure. Boring, high-leverage, and the first thing most agencies skip because it does not look like work.
Content
Pages built to answer a specific question better than whatever ranks now. Written by people who understand the business, not spun out of a tool and lightly edited.
Link building and digital PR
Links and mentions from sites with real audiences and real authority. Slower than buying them, and it is the only version that survives an algorithm update.
Local SEO
Google Business Profile, local landing pages, citations and reviews, for businesses whose customers search with a place name attached.
AI search optimization
Schema, extractable formatting, entity and topic clusters, and Bing indexing, so AI tools can find you, understand you and quote you.
Reporting that means something
Organic traffic, rankings for terms that lead to money, conversions from organic, and AI visibility checks. Not a list of tasks completed.
What changed
Traditional search and AI search, side by side
Traditional SEO still matters. It has not been replaced. But how people search, and what they see when they do, has moved.
| Traditional search | AI search | |
|---|---|---|
| How people search | Short keywords typed into Google | Full questions, often refined over several prompts |
| What they see | Ten blue links in ranked order | A written answer with a handful of sources cited |
| The journey | Click, land on site, find the information | Answer delivered immediately, fewer clicks |
| What decides visibility | Keywords, backlinks, content volume | Structure, entity clarity, authority, extractability |
| Where you appear | Search results, snippets, map pack | AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini |
| What you compete for | A position | A citation |
AI search
Getting quoted, not just ranked
People increasingly compare options and form opinions inside an AI answer, before they ever reach a website. If your brand is not in that answer, you are out of the running before the shortlist exists. You do not get told this happened. There is no impression to count.
Foundation first
Technical SEO, site structure, internal linking and links. AI tools crawl and evaluate the same web everyone else does. If your site cannot be crawled and indexed cleanly, nothing further in AI search works, and no amount of clever formatting fixes it.
Make the content extractable
Schema markup so your facts are machine-readable. Lists, tables and short summaries that can be quoted without rewriting. Clear headings that map to real questions. Entity and topic clusters, so the model recognises you as a source on a subject rather than as one page that mentioned it once.
Build authority
AI tools prefer sources they can defend citing. That comes from brand mentions, digital PR, consistent information about your business across the web, and genuine expertise signals. This is the slowest part and the hardest to fake, which is exactly why it works.
Track visibility
We check how your brand appears across AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity using platform data, entity analysis and manual prompt testing. AI visibility tracking is still immature as a discipline, and anyone claiming a precise rank-tracking dashboard for it is overselling. We report what we can verify and we tell you which part is estimate.
The overlap
The work that ranks you is the work that gets you quoted
| SEO activity | What it does for AI search |
|---|---|
| Schema markup | Makes your facts machine-readable, which is what gets cited |
| Lists, tables and short summaries | Formats AI tools can quote directly without rewriting |
| Internal linking and topic depth | Signals that you cover a subject, not one page of it |
| Technical SEO and Bing indexing | Bing indexing specifically drives ChatGPT visibility |
| Brand mentions and digital PR | Builds the authority that decides which source gets named |
| Comprehensive topic coverage | Lets AI answer multi-part questions using your content |
| Consistent business information | Helps models resolve who you are as an entity |
The short version: get the fundamentals right and you compete in both places. Skip them and you are invisible in both, no matter how much content you publish.
Where the budget goes first
SEO or Google Ads
| SEO | Google Ads | Both together | |
|---|---|---|---|
| First results | 3 to 6 months | 2 to 4 weeks | Ads carry you while SEO builds |
| Cost in month one | Fee only, no media spend | Fee plus media spend | Highest |
| Cost per lead over 24 months | Falls steadily | Flat or rises with competition | Lowest blended cost |
| If you stop paying | Rankings hold for months | Traffic stops the same day | Ads stop, SEO continues |
| You are buying | An asset you own | Attention you rent | Both |
| Best for | Long-term demand and trust | Immediate leads and testing | A 12 month growth horizon |
If you need revenue this quarter, start with ads. If you have a twelve month horizon, run both, because the ad data tells you which keywords are worth chasing organically and the SEO gradually reduces how much you need to spend on ads.
Specialisations
Nine areas we work in
Technical SEO
The audit and the fixes. Indexing, speed, structure, and everything stopping search engines from seeing what is already on your site.
On-page SEO
Optimising the pages you already have. Often the cheapest traffic increase available, because those assets are already indexed.
Local SEO
Google Business Profile, map pack rankings, location pages, citations and review strategy.
E-commerce SEO
Category and product page structure, faceted navigation, product schema, and the thin-content problem every large catalogue eventually has.
Content and SEO copywriting
Topic clusters built around real search demand and buying intent, written to be the best answer on the page rather than the longest.
Link building and digital PR
Earning coverage and links from publications your customers actually read. No private blog networks, no paid directory dumps.
AI search optimization
Schema, extractable structure, entity clarity and authority building, so you get cited rather than only ranked beneath the answer.
Enterprise and multi-location SEO
Large sites and businesses with many locations, where the problem is usually structure and internal linking rather than content volume.
International SEO
Hreflang, market-specific content, and search behaviour that differs by country. For brands selling outside India.
Who we do this for
Industries where we already know the search landscape
Category page architecture, product schema, and the long tail that actually converts. Most e-commerce sites lose more traffic to indexing problems than to competitors.
Ranking for destination and experience searches so you depend less on OTAs. Seasonal content planned months ahead of the season, and increasingly, being the source an AI names when someone asks where to stay.
Treatment and condition pages, local pack rankings, and the trust signals Google weighs more heavily here than in any other category. AI tools are also more conservative about which health sources they cite, so authority work matters more.
Product and application pages built for technical buyers doing long research, plus the content that gets you shortlisted before anyone contacts you.
Map pack rankings, location pages and review strategy. For most of these businesses the map pack is worth more than position one.
Why work with us
We fix the site, not just the report
We build websites too
When the SEO problem is the website itself, and it often is, we fix it. Most SEO agencies write a recommendation, send it to your developer, and wait three months. We do not have that gap.
AI search is included, not upsold
Plenty of agencies have added an AI SEO line item this year at a premium. The underlying work is the same work. We do it as part of the engagement and we will show you exactly which parts are the AI-specific additions.
We tell you what will not work
Some keywords are not worth chasing and some sites are not ready for content. You will hear that in the audit rather than after six months of retainer.
Sixteen years, 350+ projects
Long enough to have been through several algorithm updates and to know which tactics quietly stopped working, which is most of them.
Where we are
Built in Haldwani, ranking businesses across India
We are based in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. For most of the last sixteen years the work ran out of Delhi NCR, and in 2024 we moved operations here and kept every client through the move.
We still run SEO for brands in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Dehradun, and for clients in the UK and Canada. What changed is that businesses in Haldwani, Nainital, Rudrapur and Kathgodam can now work with a team that has competed for national keywords, rather than hiring an agency six hours away.
Local search in a market like Kumaon is a different problem from local search in a metro. Competition is lower, which means the map pack is winnable in weeks rather than quarters, and most businesses here have never properly claimed or completed their Google Business Profile. That is usually the first month of work, and it is often the month that produces the phone calls.

How we work
Four stages, and you keep the audit either way
Conversation
What the business does, where the revenue comes from, and what you want search to do for you. We look at your site and tell you honestly whether SEO is the right spend right now.
Audit and plan
A full technical audit, a look at the competition and the keyword landscape, a check of how you currently appear in AI answers, and a prioritised plan. You keep this document whether or not you hire us.
Execution
Technical fixes first, then on-page and schema, then content and links. Working directly with you, with no account manager relaying messages between you and the people doing the work.
Compounding
Monthly reporting on traffic and conversions rather than task lists, quarterly strategy reviews, and continuous adjustment as rankings, AI answers and competitors move.
| Stage | Timing |
|---|---|
| Conversation | Week 1 |
| Audit and plan | Weeks 2 to 3 |
| Execution | Weeks 4 to 12 |
| Compounding | From week 9, ongoing. Repeats monthly. |
Ten percent growth in the first quarter, then seven times the starting traffic by month twelve. The technical and content work lands early and takes a quarter to register, which is why the line sits flat before it turns. Indexed rather than absolute, because this is the shape of a typical engagement rather than one client’s numbers.
| Month | Organic traffic index | Phase |
|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | 100 | The quiet phase |
| Month 2 | 105 | The quiet phase |
| Month 3 | 110 | The quiet phase |
| Month 4 | 130 | Compounding |
| Month 5 | 165 | Compounding |
| Month 6 | 210 | Compounding |
| Month 7 | 270 | Compounding |
| Month 8 | 340 | Compounding |
| Month 9 | 420 | Compounding |
| Month 10 | 510 | Compounding |
| Month 11 | 610 | Compounding |
| Month 12 | 720 | Compounding |
Testimonials
Proof,
Not Promises.

ScalEasy showed up exactly when we needed them. We'd come out of some rough months with our last agency, poor communication, zero business understanding, just noise. ScalEasy is the opposite. They get how we think, they get the market, and somehow they've made working together genuinely fun.
